more than just a ski resort, a charming
village with plenty to do away from the slopes.....
Morzine is a picturesque village steeped in
history and tradition situated south of Lake Geneva close to Mont Blanc in the Haute Savoie
region of France. The architecture of the village is strictly controlled with
solid chalets constructed from pine, stone and slate, materials traditional to
the region. It is one of the most
easily accessible alpine resorts, just a 70 minute drive from Geneva airport or
9 hours drive from Calais.
Morzine offers all the facilities you would
associate with a modern resort but with plenty of options away from the slopes -
English language cinema, ice skating, ice hockey, paragliding,
health clubs, massage, sauna, excellent restaurants, bars and nightclubs. There
is a Wednesday local market and a busy town centre which will cater for all your
This high altitude (1800m) car free resort
was inaugurated in 1967 following the vision of 1960 Olympic downhill medal
winner and Morzinois Juan Vuarnet who sensed the incredible potential for his
home village. The resort is easily accessed by either the Prodain cable car or
Super Morzine telecabine from Morzine and sits at top the vertical cliffs of the
Vallee des Ardoisieres, a truly spectacular setting.
There are many options to get to and from
Morzine. At 560 miles we are one of the closest resorts to the UK and just a 9
hours drive from Calais. We can offer secure parking on both sites. If you do
decide to drive you will need to carry a set of snow chains, a hazard triangle
and a spare set of light bulbs.
